Final stage Italian Championship in Viterbo: Benvenuti is the SM Junior champion. Malone is the SM4 vice-champion.

On Saturday, September 2nd and Sunday, September 3rd, the Italian Supermoto Championship concluded at the International Circuit of Viterbo with two days of exciting races.

In Saturday's S4 category qualifiers, Marco Malone #52 struggled to find the right feeling with the Lazio track, securing a seventh-place grid position, followed by Guido Cilla #173 in ninth and Matteo Giacobbe #41 in fourteenth.

In the race, on the sixth lap, Malone crashed after a contact with another rider and finished the heat in last position. Cilla finished in eighth position while Giacobbe was twelfth.

In the second race of the day, Malone finished in sixth position, followed by Cilla in eighth. Giacobbe had a good performance, finishing in tenth position.

In SM Junior, Andrea Benvenuti #263 added valuable points to his leadership by securing pole position and winning both heats of the day. Michael Diodato #2 had more difficulty; after a sixth-place in qualifying, he finished seventh and fifth in the two races.

Sunday was full of twists and turns in the S4 category: after sixth place in qualifying, Malone finished second in race one and third in race two.

Guido Cilla was further back, and after an eighth-place finish in qualifying, he concluded the heats in twelfth and tenth positions respectively. Behind him was his teammate Matteo Giacobbe, who finished both races in thirteenth place.

Marco Malone #52 finished the Championship in second position, Matteo Giacobbe #41 in thirteenth, and Guido Cilla #173 in fourteenth.

On the second day of racing, Andrea Benvenuti #263 secured the title of Italian Champion in SM Junior after pole position and two victories.

Good performance from Michael Diodato #2, who after a sixth-place in qualifying, finished fourth and third in the two heats. Diodato finishes fourth in the general category standings.

It's a shame about Malone this last weekend, but we still maintained second place in the Championship. A round of applause also goes to Diodato, Giacobbe, and Cilla, who always tried their best. However, the season is not over yet: the last appointment is on Sunday, September 24th in Ottobiano for the final round of the Lombardy Piedmont Liguria Interregional Championship.
