Third round of the Italian Championship in Busca (CN)

On Sunday, June 12, the third round of the Italian Supermoto Championship took place at the Busca (CN) track in Piedmont.

A very hot day on and off the track: in the S4 category, Marco Malone #52 took third place in the morning's qualifying session.

Guido Cilla #173 also performed well, stopping the clock in ninth place on the grid at his home track.

In Race 1, Malone started in third position but due to a mistake on the fourth lap, he finished the heat in fourth. Cilla moved up two positions, finishing the race in seventh.

In the second heat, Malone again finished in fourth place, while Cilla, after a start that dropped him to eleventh position, managed to climb back to eighth place.

The overall standings for the day concluded with Marco Malone in fourth place and Guido Cilla in sixth.

In the Championship standings, Malone moved up to second place, while Cilla remained in eleventh.

In the S Junior category, Andrea Benvenuti #263 secured an excellent third place in qualifying. In Race 1, Andrea started well and immediately moved into second position, which he maintained until the finish line.

In the second heat, Benvenuti started in second position, but on the third lap, due to a brake problem, he fell to the back and then finished twelfth.

Benvenuti finished the day's standings in fourth position and is currently second in the overall Championship standings.

Gilda Benazzi, Team Principal, comments: ''A race Sunday that started well with qualifying but did not bring the desired results for Malone. A special mention goes to Guido Cilla who had a good race on his home track. Benvenuti was unlucky in Race 2, but ready for redemption in the next round.''

Upcoming events: Interregional Championship on June 19 in Borgo Ticino (No) and Italian Championship on July 3 in Viterbo.
