Sixth stage Italian Championship in Ortona
On Sunday, September 14, the sixth and final round of the Italian Supermoto Championship took place at the Circuito Internazionale d’Abruzzo in Ortona.
The final laps were truly exciting in the SM4 category: Iacopo Arduini #05 achieved the fifth fastest time in qualifying, while Samuele Gaspari #47 had to settle for thirteenth place.
In race one, Arduini maintained fifth position until the finish line, and Gaspari managed to climb up to eighth place. In race two, Arduini started well, gaining fourth position, which he defended until the end of the race. Gaspari made some mistakes and maintained thirteenth place.

In the day's standings, Arduini finished in fourth place and Gaspari in tenth, while in the final Italian Championship standings, Arduini narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place, and Gaspari finished in eighth position.

Great spectacle also in the Honda Red Moto Trophy: wild card Michael Diodato #2 won both heats at the Abruzzo circuit, placing first for the day.

The Trophy leader in the SMF category, Renato Cuomo #469, finished the two races in fifth and fourth position and took third place on the podium for the day. Cuomo thus managed to clinch the title in the SMF category of the Honda Red Moto Trophy.

Also noteworthy in the Ortona awards was Michael Diodato's #2 second place in the Championship in the SM Young category.

"
It's been a tough year, we worked very hard, but it's a shame for Arduini, who definitely deserved a different result. Well done to both Gaspari and Diodato, who are growing and show promise for 2026. Congratulations to Cuomo, who, as a rookie in the championship, managed to win the Trophy. I would like to thank all our sponsors, supporters, mechanics, and everyone involved with our team. Ortona is behind us, and we are already thinking about 2026," comments Gilda Benazzi, Team Principal.
See you soon and... Gas!
