Second Stage of the Italian Championship in Pomposa
The second stage of the Italian Supermoto Championship took place on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May at the Pomposa Circuit racetrack (FE).
In SM4 it was an FRT2 domain: in Saturday's qualifying, Iacopo Arduini #05 took the Superpole Biting, followed in second place by teammate Antonino Navarria #36; Samuele Gaspari #47 was not far behind with the sixth fastest time.
In race one, Arduini had a lightning start and immediately took the lead, followed closely by Navarria for the entire heat: lap after lap, Arduini still managed to get the better of Navarria, taking first place.

Gaspari finished seventh after a less than perfect start.
Sunday morning started with the Sprint Race: Sciarretta got off to a good start, followed closely until the last lap by Arduini and Navarria, who finished in second and third place respectively. Gaspari also had a good performance: he started well and took fifth place.

An intense afternoon in the final race: Arduini got off to a good start and took a solid lead, still followed by Navarria who finished in second place. Gaspari was unlucky, involved in a crash with other riders that forced him to the back and he finished the race in fourteenth position.
On the podium of the day, Arduini took first place and the red plate as Championship leader.

Navarria finished second on the podium, while Gaspari closed the day in sixth position.

FRT2 also won the Honda Red Moto Trophy: Michael Diodato #2 confirmed his pole position and absolute dominance in both heats.

Third place of the day for Renato Cuomo #469 despite a fall in race one and an exciting comeback in race two.

"It was the perfect weekend, winning with a first and second place on what we consider our 'home' track is a huge satisfaction. All the guys did great, everyone gave their best. Now we are focused again on the next race, the Championship is still long," commented Gilda Benazzi, FRT2 Racing Team Principal.
