Fifth stage of the Italian Supermoto Championship in Latina: third place for Marco Malone.

On Sunday, September 12th, the fifth round of the Italian Supermoto Championship was held at the ‘Il Sagittario’ Circuit in Latina.

In the morning's timed practice sessions, Malone, despite a slide, recorded a time of 56.921, just 66 milliseconds off Kevin Vandi's pole position. In race one, Malone started well and maintained second position until the fourth lap, when he took the lead. He crossed the finish line in first place, followed by Vandi. In race two, unfortunately, a fall on the second lap while he was in the lead compromised the successful outcome of the heat, and Marco finished in twenty-first position.

Malone finished the day in third place overall and maintained the red plate as the Championship leader with 279 points over Kevin Vandi.

In the S Junior category, Andrea Benvenuti confirmed his consistent growth. After an eleventh-place finish in qualifying, Andrea finished both races in eighth position. In the daily standings, he finished seventh and moved up to fourth place in the overall Championship standings for the Junior 85cc category.

Gilda Benazzi, Team Principal, comments on the Lazio weekend: "It was a very demanding weekend with positive and, unfortunately, also negative emotions in S4. But we are not discouraged; we are already ready to give our best in the last race. Well done to Benvenuti, who defended himself well on a track he didn't know."

The next and final round of the Italian Championship will be a two-day event on Saturday, October 2nd, and Sunday, October 3rd, in Castelletto di Branduzzo (PV), in conjunction with the Lombardy, Piedmont, and Liguria Regional Championship.

See you soon…and full throttle!
