Fifth round of the Interregional Championship of Lombardy in Castelletto di Branduzzo

On Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, the final round of the Lombardy Regional Championship was held in Castelletto di Branduzzo (PV), in conjunction with the European and World Championship race. The two-day event was accompanied by rain on Saturday, and uncertain weather on Sunday.


Saturday's S4 category qualifying rounds saw Fabiano Bartoli in ninth place, followed by Alessandro Lauri in tenth and Paolo Volpi in twelfth. Lorenzo Surace was unable to participate in qualifying due to a technical issue and started from the back of the grid.







Race one was held in the late afternoon: Alessandro Lauri managed to climb to sixth position. Bartoli maintained ninth position, Surace finished twelfth. Volpi was further back in fifteenth position.


In Sunday's race two, Bartoli again had to settle for ninth position, immediately followed by Volpi in tenth. Surace and Lauri finished twelfth and thirteenth respectively.


In the Lombardy daily classification, Lauri finished seventh, Bartoli eighth, Volpi thirteenth and Surace fourteenth.


The Lombardy Championship concluded with Bartoli in sixth position, Surace in tenth, and Volpi in twelfth. Alessandro Mantia, who could not participate in this last race, nevertheless finished in seventh position overall.




During the weekend, Andrea Benvenuti participated in the European S Junior Championship race: after Saturday's qualifying rounds, which placed him in third position on the starting grid, Andrea completed two good heats and finished with a fourth place on the day.

The last event of the 2022 season will be held on Sunday, October 2, in Ortona, for the Trophy of the Regions.
