Fourth Interregional Lombardy Round in Ottobiano

On Sunday, July 17, the fourth round of the Interregional Championship of Lombardy, Liguria, and Piedmont was held at the Ottobiano (PV) circuit.

The intense heat was the main feature of the race day: in the timed practice sessions of the S4 category, Alessandro Mantia #341 managed to stop the clock in sixth position on the grid, followed in eleventh position by Fabiano Bartoli #51. Paolo Volpi #110 was further back with the twenty-third fastest time.

Race one took place under the scorching midday sun: Mantia started well and continued the race with a series of overtakes that saw him finish in second position. Bartoli, unfortunately, didn't get a good start and had to settle for fourteenth place. Volpi, on the other hand, retired due to a technical problem.

In race two, Mantia had some problems at the start and found himself in seventh. He then managed to finish in sixth position and secured third place for the day.

Bartoli, after a good start that took him to eighth position, crashed and finished the race in eighteenth, followed by Volpi in twentieth.

In the Lombardy daily classification, Bartoli secured twelfth place while Paolo Volpi took sixteenth.

Lorenzo Surace was unable to participate in the race due to an injury on Saturday.

The Championship will now take a break until the final round scheduled for September 24 and 25 in Castelletto di Branduzzo (PV), coinciding with the World and European Championships.

See you soon and Gas!
