First & second round of the Italian Supermoto Championship in Limatola
On Saturday, April 12th and Sunday, April 13th, the Italian Supermoto Championship kicked off at the International Volturno Circuit in Limatola: a very demanding two-day race event.

On the first day of races in the SM4 category, some technical mishaps compromised the results of the two riders on track: Iacopo Arduini #05, after a ninth-place finish in qualifying, ended the first heat in nineteenth position due to a technical problem, while Samuele Gaspari #47 recovered two positions from qualifying, finishing thirteenth. Arduini performed better in the second heat, achieving the sixth fastest time, while Gaspari was forced to withdraw.

In SM Young, Michael Diodato #2 also suffered from bad luck: after finishing second in qualifying and the first heat, he experienced a problem in the off-road section during race two while in the lead, dropping him to the back. Nevertheless, he still managed to secure third place overall for the day in his category.

Renato Cuomo #469 made a positive debut in the Honda Red Moto Trophy: after securing first place in qualifying and race one, Cuomo finished second in race two despite a false start, ultimately claiming first place overall for the day.

Everything to redo on Sunday: in SM4, Arduini found his rhythm on the Campanian track and after finishing fifth in qualifying, he respectively closed the two heats in fifth and eighth position.

Gaspari also did well, finishing tenth in race one and maintaining his fourteenth position from qualifying in race two.

Diodato also managed to secure two second-place finishes in both races in the SM Young category, earning him second place overall for the day in his category.

In the Honda Red Moto Trophy, Cuomo reaffirmed his excellent feeling with the Campanian track: he finished second in race one due to contact with an opponent on the last lap, and secured first place in race two, thus claiming the top step of the podium on the second day of races as well.

"It was a very challenging weekend for Arduini and Gaspari. We couldn't express our full potential due to technical problems and not having tested the track beforehand. A good start for Diodato and Cuomo despite some bad luck for them too. But we are just at the beginning, and we still have a lot of work to do," commented Gilda Benazzi, FRT 2 Racing Team Principal.
