Another victory for FRT RACING 2

Success continues for FRT Racing 2, which competed on September 2nd in the fifth round of the Italian Supermoto Championship held at the 'Il Sagittario' Circuit in Latina.

Another winning Sunday thanks to a first and second place finish in the Italian Championship standings, respectively with Andrea Occhini #51 and Fabrizio Bartolini #110.

Due to heavy overnight rain, timed practice in the S1 category was conducted without the off-road section. Andrea Occhini's excellent fourth-place time was just over a tenth of a second from pole. Bartolini, in eighth, immediately showed good race pace.

In the first heat, Occhini finished second, while Fabrizio Bartolini came in third after gaining the position on the fifth lap with a spectacular "two-on-one" pass over Monticelli Teo and Filippetti.

In race 2, after a good start, Occhini immediately moved into third and maintained that position until the finish line. Fabrizio Bartolini finished fourth thanks to yet another overtake at the entrance to the dirt section over D'Addato. Andrea Occhini and Fabrizio Bartolini thus also secured second and third place in the day's standings of the Internazionali D'Italia behind Marc Schmidt.

In the S3 category, Fabio Mazzolai #247 concluded with a fifth-place finish for the day; we also note the collarbone injury to Marzio Ravaioli #64 in the S5 category during warm-up; he would have started from second place on the grid.

The last championship race is scheduled for October 13th and 14th at the Castelletto di Branduzzo (PV) Circuit, where 4 heats will be contested.

In the Italian Championship rider standings, Occhini is currently second, 24 points behind Monticelli Diego, and Bartolini is third. In the International standings, Occhini is third, followed by his teammate Bartolini.

Andrea Occhini #51

‘’Latina confirmed that the team's work, both at home and on the track, is paying off. Both Bartolini (Super Bicio) and I have always been competitive in all sessions. I'm happy with the result and ready to get to work for the final rounds of the championship. Thanks to the whole team and all the sponsors for their support!’’

Fabrizio Bartolini #110

‘’A strong thunderstorm on Saturday night and Sunday compromised the off-road section, and race direction decided to run qualifying only on asphalt. This penalized me, and I only managed to get eighth place on the grid, but the dirt section was reinstated for the afternoon races. Race 1 started with a good launch and a double pass that put me in 5th position a few laps in. I maintained a good race pace, and contact halfway through the heat between Monticelli D. and Hermunen put me in 3rd position, which I held until the end, behind my teammate. In Race 2, I felt the pressure to confirm the excellent performance of the first heat. I started focused and managed to maintain a good pace until the end of the race, finishing in 4th place. After the performance in Pomposa, at the end of the day, I was back on the podium, third in the overall standings behind Schmidt and Occhini, and second in the Italian Championship standings. These results confirm and reward our efforts and constant commitment. Having put the fantastic Latina weekend behind us, we are heading towards the championship conclusion in Castelletto.’’

Nicola Ferranti Team manager FRT Racing 2

‘‘This race confirmed that we are competitive and that the work done so far is bringing deserved results. Both Andrea and Fabrizio are doing their best to conclude the season in the best possible way.

Now, heads down, and we're working for the last two races in Castelletto.’’
