FRT Racing 2 sweeps Pomposa
A wonderful and exciting Sunday for the FRT Racing 2 team, competing in the 5th round of the Italian Championship at the Pomposa Circuit (FE).
In the S1 category, the qualifying sessions in the morning already set the stage for an excellent race, with Fabrizio Bartolini #110 achieving the third fastest time, closely followed by his teammate Andrea Occhini #51 in fourth. Race 1 confirmed this: after a harmless slide by Schmidt, Occhini and Bartolini took the lead, leaving the German rider from team L30 and Mauno Hermunen behind, finishing with a triumphant first and second place.

In race 2, Bartolini started strong in second place, behind Schmidt, while Occhini, who was in fourth, crashed in the dirt, causing him to finish eighth. Bartolini maintained his pace, never letting the leader Schmidt get away, finishing second and thus securing first place in the overall Italian Championship standings for the day and second place in the International Championship for the day. Despite the crash, Occhini finished with second place for the day in the Italian Championship and third place in the International standings for the day.
Occhini is now in second place in the Italian Championship, while Bartolini is fourth.

Marzio Ravaioli #64 also delivered an excellent performance in S5 with two solo first places in both heats.

Fabio Mazzolai #247 also did well, finishing third overall for the day in the S3 category.

Next stop is on Sunday, September 2nd, at the 'Circuito Il Sagittario' in Latina.
Fabrizio Bartolini #110
'Fantastic performance, well beyond expectations. Qualifying immediately set the tone for the afternoon's races, achieving the third absolute fastest time, matching Hermunen's times behind Schmidt, who seemed uncatchable. Finally, the feeling with the bike is optimal; I had already made some decisive modifications at Busca. In Race 1, I started from the front row and maintained a good pace. At the end of the first lap, I was fourth, preceded by my teammate, Hermunen, with Schmidt in the lead. The latter had a small slide and restarted late. First Occhini, then I overtook Hermunen, and we found ourselves leading the race until the end, setting fast laps and finishing in a parade with a first and second place.'
Race 2: I had an excellent start, positioning myself behind the usual leader Schmidt, and Hermunen. I quickly shook off the Finn and trailed Schmidt, maintaining a very high pace and a minimal gap. I finished the race in second place again. At the end of the day, I am first in the Italian Championship standings and second overall in the International Championship. This is my best result ever in the Italian Championship. Thanks to my team.'
Andrea Occhini #51
'We demonstrated the strength of our team and the competitiveness of our bikes, thanks to the work done in recent months. In Race 1, everything worked perfectly: after a few laps, I managed to get into first position and set my pace, followed by Bartolini. We managed to ride fast and maintain the lead, finishing in first and second position. In Race 2, on the fourth lap, I was in fourth position, but unfortunately, while trying to overtake the rider in front of me, I made a mistake and crashed. I restarted and managed to finish eighth, a result that still allowed us to get on the podium. I thank everyone for their support during a difficult weekend for personal reasons.'
Nicola Ferranti Team manager FRT Racing2
'Finally, we managed to demonstrate that the work done so far is correct. The guys were perfect in Race 1, leaving Schmidt and Hermunen behind. It's a shame for Occhini in Race 2, but kudos to Bartolini, who was consistently strong and not far behind Schmidt. All the conditions are right for an excellent race in Latina on September 2nd.'
