ITALIAN SUPERMOTO CHAMPIONSHIP 2020 ROUNDS THREE AND FOUR VITERBO

On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October, the third and fourth races of the Italian Championship took place at the International Circuit of Viterbo. The weekend was characterized by mild temperatures on Saturday and uncertain, cold weather on Sunday. The races were broadcast live on Offroad Pro Racing's YouTube channel.

In the S1 class, it was a challenging weekend for the team's three riders: Fabrizio Bartolini #5 had to settle for two fourth places in the Italian Championship standings, which moved him up to third place overall, and sixth place in the International Championship.

Gioele Filippetti #97 scored two sixth places in the Italian championship standings and two eighth places in the International championship, while Edgardo Borella #20, after a series of crashes on Saturday, finished seventh in the International championship and tenth and fifth in the Italian championship.

Bartolini recounts the two race days: "I felt very competitive on the asphalt part, but I was a bit slowed down in the off-road section. However, I'm satisfied with this weekend, having come close to the podium on both days."

Filippetti adds: "It was a tough weekend for me; I wasn't at my peak physical condition. I had the speed, but I lacked race pace. However, I'm already pumped for Pomposa, and we'll definitely make up for it."

Finally, Borella: "It was a difficult weekend, and perhaps the hoped-for result didn't come. We hope for a good end to the season at the double header in Pomposa on October 24th and 25th. I thank my whole team and all my sponsors again."

In the S4 category, Iacopo Arduini #05 also had his share of unexpected events: in Saturday's qualifying, he was relegated to last position due to cutting the track on a flying lap. He then made two comebacks, finishing sixth in the first race and fifth in the second. On Sunday, Iacopo started fourth on the grid but couldn't make his move and finished fifth for the day.

It was also a difficult weekend for his category teammate Edoardo Savini #10, who finished twenty-first and thirteenth for the day in the two days of racing.

Arduini comments on the two days of racing: "Two very demanding race days; the bike was perfect, but my mistake on Saturday forced me to limit the damage. On Sunday, I had good pace, I fought throughout the first race but couldn't make the decisive move. In race two, I started better, but the race ended with a red flag. Now we look ahead and focus on the last race and ending the Championship in the best possible way."

In the S3 category, Giacomo Bolognesi #31 also faced the double race days with some mishaps: after a good third place on Saturday, he had to settle for sixth place on Sunday due to a broken chain that forced him to retire in race two.

The Italian Championship awaits us for the grand finale with the last double race on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October at the 'Circuito di Pomposa' in San Giuseppe di Comacchio (FE), where live streaming will again be available on OffRoad Pro Racing's YouTube channel.
