Good start to the season for team FRT RACING 2

On Sunday, March 31st, the Italian Supermoto Championship finally kicked off in Ottobiano (PV).

In the S1 Top Class, Andrea Occhini #51 immediately found a good feeling with the bike, clocking the fourth fastest time in timed practice behind Schmidt and ahead of the other Italians. In race 1, due to a problem at the start, he fell behind but recovered to finish sixth. He performed better in race 2, finding himself third after Schmidt's fall, but on the eighth lap, he was overtaken by Sitniansky and finished fourth.

Fabrizio Bartolini #110 also had a good race: starting with the tenth fastest time in timed practice, he finished ninth in race 1, while in race 2, after an exciting comeback, he closed in sixth position ahead of Schmidt.

Occhini finished third overall in the S1 Italian classification, while Bartolini was fourth, just off the podium.

Excellent debut for Iacopo Arduini #05 in the S4 All Road category: starting from fifth position after qualifying, he managed to secure a hard-fought fourth place in race 1 and a well-deserved third place in race 2. He finished the day with an overall third place.

Marzio Ravaioli #64 also had a winning performance in S5: despite not being in full physical form, he set the second fastest time in qualifying and finished race 1 in third place, while race 2 saw him in fourth. He also secured an overall third place for the day.

Also noteworthy was the performance of Marko Ukota #36 in the S2 category: after the seventh fastest time in qualifying, he secured fifth position in race 1, and seventh in race 2, allowing him to close in fifth place overall for the day.

Andrea Occhini #51 FRT Racing 2 Rider

'The first race of the season is always exciting. A few errors affected the final result, which is still positive. I am happy with my speed, but aware that we need to continue working to reach 100%.'

Fabrizio Bartolini #110 FRT Racing 2 Rider

'The first event of the season concludes with very positive feedback from the new bike and excellent prospects for the future. The work done during testing is paying off. The only slip-up was a fall during Saturday's practice, which caused a severe contusion to my left hand. Sunday's qualifying concluded with a 10th place on the grid, but my desire to do well led me to finish ninth in race one and sixth in race two with a good pace, motivated and aware that I can do well already in Viterbo!'

Nicola Ferranti Team Manager

'The season has started well; we are satisfied with the work done during the winter break, but we can still improve. All the conditions are in place for an excellent season.'

Next round on Sunday, April 28th, in Viterbo.
